Greg has personally managed over $1.4 billion in financial transactions via real estate investing and fixed and flipped over 450 homes and 2000 apartment units

His aptitude for business has helped him to provide management direction, capital restructuring, investment research analysis, business projection analysis, and capital acquisition services.

However, these days he is mainly focused on being a professional influencer and educating investors about the benefits of using self-directed IRAs for tax-free wealth management. He is also a devout family man who enjoys spending his free time with his wife and children.

Greg Herlean’s journey started at 19 years old when he made a 2-year journey to Guayaquil, Ecuador, and volunteered to help less fortunate families. As a result, he learned many foundational lessons about faith, community, and hard work, which have helped him in his business success. Using these lessons, he was able to slowly build his wealth through real estate investing and establish Horizon Trust in 2011.

As the founder of Horizon Trust, Greg uses his knowledge to empower customers to achieve greater financial security and provide generational wealth for their families. He has also authored two books, Bank on This and Flip, Bank, Live, which he co-wrote with the star of Spike TV’s “Flip Men,” Mike Baird, to educate investors about how to get rich in real estate.

First and foremost, let me tell you about the most important thing in the world to me – my family. For all of the financial success that I have, I am most fortunate to have 4 awesome and amazing children. They are the joy in my heart and the center of my universe. We have a happy and active home life in Orange County, California and Las Vegas, Nevada!How did I get here? Let me share a bit of that with you…

As the son of an United States Air Force officer, I have lived all over the country. I was fortunate enough to see what life was like from one great coast to the other. As I got older, I decided to explore beyond that. So, after my first year of undergraduate school, I ventured to Guayaquil, Ecuador to serve a church mission. That time, gave me a much clearer perspective on the world and on the opportunities that we have here in the United States. We truly live in the greatest country, where more opportunity exists for its citizens than anywhere else in the world.

I returned home, eager to capture my opportunity and provide the lifestyle I desired for the family I am fortunate to have today. I first discovered my specialized financial niche during a visit to my parents, who had moved to Las Vegas. Now, the first thing I realized was that I wanted to move to Las Vegas when school was done. No, not because of the famous lights on the Las Vegas strips, but because I realized that my father had found a part of the country where it never snowed.

That wasn’t the only compelling thing my father exposed me to during that trip. During that visit, I was introduced to a man who owned a successful insurance business, and was always on vacation with his 6 children. I decided, right then and there, to get to know this man and find out what the secret was. Lucky for me, it turned out that many of my education, skills and experience had prepared me well to open up my own estate planning practice, which dealt primarily with insurance companies.

After 18 months running that business, I learned that most of the wealthy people I encountered had obtained their wealth by investing in real estate. To be more precise, they were private lenders. They were lending money to people and earning 10-20% on their money every year. I quickly realized that I was more than capable of replicating their success. Then, I found a way to improve upon what I learned from them. I educated myself on the methods of self-directed investing and super-charged the private lending model I so admired.

From that time forward, I have been focused on educating others on how to leverage their 401K and IRA funds to build a lifetime of wealth and the lifestyle they desire to live. I have personally seen thousands of people successfully change their portfolios by adding real estate assets to their IRA. Only 4% of IRA holders in the United States have learned this concept, but it is my mission to change that. We all deserve to be reap the opportunities afforded to us here, and my mission is to ensure that as many people as possible learn how.
